Michael Cataldi is an installation artist, taking materials on the site of his architectural structures. He molds the environment with his art, from the environment for his art. While many of the exhibits he creates are only temporary, I feel like it may leave viewers with a sense of shock. Places that we live in are able to be from reused materials. It’s important to make this realization now, rather than later.
The picture above will take you to a video on the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s site, an organization involving really interesting artist residencies. The group allows visiting artists to continue their work and educate the public, much like the RCAH I feel. We could learn from them!
